As if ignoring the Covid-19 pandemic and choosing to expose thousands to the virus weren’t enough Donny John this week, he is planning a large pyrotechnic display/show at Mount Rushmore for July 4th. Currently fireworks are banned at the park due to fire danger, but doing the right thing has never been an option for the President, only doing what is right for himself.

Our President has been tweeting and vowing to throw those “thugs who deface national monuments” into jail. At the same time, he has been planning to destroy a national park by lighting firecrackers during a fireworks ban and a fire warning…just on a massive scale never before seen in this part of South Dakota. The smoke damage to Mount Rushmore could take years to clean. Hypocrite much? I wonder how long one should be in prison (and not one of those rich-bitch jails) for burning a National Park to the ground while defacing a National Monument?

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, general embarrassment to Texans and boot-licker to President Trump, is this week’s Scumbag of the Week. Representative Gohmert has been known to obnoxiously skirt the rules of good behavior on a regular basis and, being generous, has caused the frustration of Democrats by holding up almost as many bills as Moscow Mitch.

What was it that catapulted good-old-boy Louie above other such candidates as Mike Pence (trying to show off and falling down, and also telling Republicans to tell their constituents that everything is OK with the virus), Texas Governor Greg Abbot (who told people that it doesn’t matter how bad it gets and how many new records for they set for Covid-19 cases, holding up the re-openings is the last resort)?

In today’s House Judiciary Hearing on Justice Department Oversight, Louie proved that he knows his percussion. Claiming there is no rule that says when a member can make noise, our Scumbag of the week began banging on his desk trying to disrupt the opening testimony of former Attorney General Donald Ayers.

It worked as it interrupted the hearing for several minutes before things were finally allowed to continue. Once again, Republicans have no way to defend their party’s actions except to disrupt, mislead, and generally argue inane viewpoints.

So help celebrate Representative Louie Gohmert winning the Scumbag of the Week award by raising a glass of whatever makes you act like an idiot, bang your desk like you’re Phil Collins except with no sense of rhythm, and spew the most idiotic verbiage you can imagine. You’ll be on your way to an award of your own.

Tulsa may have been a bust, but this afternoon President “We don’t need no stinkin’ masks” Trump held an indoor rally at a megachurch in Phoenix. It was reported the church was full with approximately 3000 voluntary infectees and nearly as many naked people as those wearing masks.

With the rallies and the general apathy where things Covid-19 are concerned, one could think El Donaldo really doesn’t care how many people get sick and die as long as he gets re-elected in November.

No daily Trumpfest disguised as the Covid committee, no praise from dictators on the great job he is doing. Hell, he hasn’t even got a love-ya text from North Korea in so long that he is about to start sending tweets about how nobody loves him anymore.

Trump is an emotional vampire that feeds off the love and admiration of his followers. Tulsa was supposed to be the rebirth of his campaign. Instead President Trump was left feeling desperate for attention, and a little pissed off that he didn’t get it.

The rally at the church in Phoenix may have had lower expectations as far as crowd size, but even that didn’t seem quite as lively as a normal Trump rally. Guess the President sucked too much.
